....or maybe you already use WEBCT or the TAFE VC and would like to consider outsourcing the administration to free up staff for other work?

We can administer TAFE VC for you,
so you can get on with the business of training!

We are delighted to be able to offer the TAFE Virtual Campus Provider Administration service.  Aspin Online Consulting now has two administrators who can assist VET providers and organisations when their local TAFE VC PA is on leave, or need some short or longer term fast, efficient services. 

The TAFE VC team is led by Alick Marks who was TAFE VC PA at NMIT for five years.  Alick is highly experienced in all aspects of TAFEVC provider administration, managing large and small clients and a very busy helpdesk. Alick was interim TAFE VC PA for eWorks (October-December 2004, and May-June 2005)

Available services are:

1. General TAFE VC PA Service for Registered Training Organisations

Aspin Online Consulting can provide TAFE VC Provider Admin service and support for all general Provider Administrator functions such as:

  • Course Management (i.e. Shared Designer, Teaching Assistants and Students)
  • Addition of new course modules and course backups
  • Maintenance of 'discussion' messages (i.e. addition of topics, message deletion, as required by client
  • On-site service and assistance, as may be required by Provider Administrators

    This service is costed at a low flat hourly rate.


2. WEB CT and TAFE VC Design Service and Support

Aspin Online Consulting can provide full Provider Admin design service and support for:

  • General customisation of ANTA Toolboxes
  • Maintenance of course content and tools

Detailed quotes will be provided according to the level of work required for either Provider Administrator or Design Service and Support options. 

3. WEB CT / TAFE VC Training, Coaching and Mentoring

Often you want the skills to make it happen in your own organisation. Maybe you just need a little mentoring or coaching for one hour, a morning or over a longer term. Maybe you want your team to enjoy a half day or full day workshop so they can use and administer WEBCT and/or the TAFE VC.

Meeting the skills needs of your flexible workforce can be daunting! Most industries are faced with an aging workforce and staff retention issues. Education and training management services

There are times when your training manager is not available, or has resigned but you have not been able to locate the right candidate for the job. In this case you still need to keep your programs running and running well.

You may be an RTO and need to ensure your registration is not at risk because staff do not understand nationally accredited training or the AQTF. You may be running terrific programs but find that when you promote an internal staff member to an acting position, the programs seem to slip. Why is that? It is because educational management requires skill and long term experience. It cannot be developed over night.

In this case we come to the rescue! We have provided interim education and training management services to several organisations. Usually it is just one month, or a few days a week over more months while you take your time finding the right person for the job.

How does it work? We come to you and work in your setting. We manage the teams and the processes and often leave you with new ideas and a framework to help you move to the next stage of your business. After your manager returns or the new manager arrives, we can provide ongoing support or mentoring if you wish.

We write grant and tender applications. We develop cold bids to take to government departments and other funding bodies. Recent successful tenders and grant applications written for organisations were:

Project management of training programs

Project management requires skill and experience especially when involving a reference group, steering committee and various stakeholders. Managing projects to come in on time and in budget is not an easy task, so organisations often like to bring in an experienced project manager to help them through the process.

A recent example of this was the Pharmacists as Partners in Training Strategies on Alcohol and Licit Substances project October 2004 – June 2005. This complex project needed a very experienced project manager, and Margaret Aspin was able to provide this service.

If you have had a look around our web site you will see that eLearning and mobile learning using PDAs and Smart Phones etc is a major component of our work. We develop eLearning materials, provide administration services for eLearning platforms, and run professional development for trainers in a broad range of industries. We also work in consortia with other suppliers who can produce the types of multimedia that we can't.

We develop new course content for:

  • Moodle
  • Blackboard
  • most other online learning management systems

We create training programs for companies needing to put their inductions, compliance training or procedures online in a learning program format.

Development of online induction programs

We develop online induction programs for our industry clients. Online inductions have obvious benefits for our clients as they allow large numbers of staff to be inducted in a minimum amount of time. Our clients report they often get their new staff to complete the online induction at home before arriving for work. Then at work, there is a validation activity and the new staff member is off and running.

We often work in conjunction with a registered training organisation who deals directly with their client. For example in 2006 we have developed online induction programs for the John Holland Group in conjunction with their RTO 'The Malka Group', and for Champions IGA Supermarkets in conjunction with their RTO SGILS.

Training: We train in the health industry. This includes CARE MANAGER software and other IT software and systems.

Consulting. We work extensively with the health industry. This gives us a good understanding of your education and training needs. Typically we write workforce plans, conduct skills audits, prepare training materials, write tenders and project manage health projects.
