Margaret has many years successful experience in VET management and education, with a strong focus on project management, leadership and professional development, developing and marketing innovative Internet technologies in the fields of eLearning and flexible delivery. Margaret is well known in Australasia for her work on Virtual Work and Virtual Teaming, having set up the first Virtual Team in education and training in Australia in 1997.

Margaret's qualifications include a Bachelor of Education, a Master of Education nearing completion (well whenever!), a Graduate Certificate in Management (Education and Training), Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and several other awards. She was an Australian National Training Authority Flexible Learning Leader in 2000, and won the National Centre of Vocational Education and Research TAFE Researcher Award 1997.

Margaret's work history includes the Australian National Training Authority focusing on the capability of VET professionals, small businesses and a range of national training issues. Before this Margaret was the manager of online training (eLearning) at a large Technical and Further Education Institute in Victoria where she project managed on time and within budget over 20 key government, company and trust funded projects.

Margaret has consulted to industry, built online communication networks, developed eLearning strategies for businesses, professionally developed staff, established business partnerships and marketed innovative online short courses.

Margaret established the first virtual team in education in Australia, managing ongoing, contract, sessional staff and contractors distributed across Australia and New Zealand, and has acted as consultant to a diverse range of clients.

Margaret's skills as a presenter are well known and include:

  • Consultant trainer for Performance Improvement Conferences and Seminars (PICS) in Australia and New Zealand on the topic of e-Learning in companies and education.
  • Keynote speaker, and presenter at several national and Victorian conferences and E-Moderator in International online conferences.
  • Workshops for the New South Wales government, Waikato and Wairarapa Polytechnics in New Zealand, and 12 vocational education and training institutes in Australia.
  • Expert lecturer in Virtual Organisations and Virtual Teaming as a global management and organisational change methodology.

  Alick Marks

  Training and Special Projects , Aspin ONLINE Consulting








Specialist skills:

Quality documentation, TAFEVC training and provider administration, training support desk and customer relations. Alick also works in ASPIN training.

Qualifications:

Certificate IV in Training and Assessment 2006

Alick has attended many staff development courses, 2 key ones being Front Line Management Program and training as an Internal Quality Auditor of Quality Systems.

During his employment with Telstra Alick provided support to Executive  Management and Business Units and had a significant role in the maintenance of a major Quality System.

After leaving Telstra Alick was employed with a major Victorian TAFE and was responsible for providing administration and technical support for the Online Team. During this period Alick as the Provider Administrator for TAFE VC and administrator of FirstClass and provided supporting help and assistance for both of these online systems.

Alick further enhanced his administration skills and knowledge from an educational perspective.

During 2004 and 2005 Alick occupied the position of interim TAFE VC administrator with eWorks where he gained a good knowledge and experience of TAFE VC administration.

Alick commenced with Aspin Online Consulting as the Operations Manager early in 2004 and is responsible for a wide range of activities relating to operations support, in key areas of quality, project management, eLearning systems and training, and TAFEVC provider administration for clients. Alick is the ASPIN training enrolments officer and works extensively with the director on the AQTF requirements of our Registered Training Organisation.

  Ron Aspin

  Consultant, Aspin ONLINE Consulting (Part-Time).







Qualifications:

Specialist Skills:

Social research, evaluation, facilitation/mediation, marriage education, online counselling and research/scoping projects.

Ron is a sociologist with an honours degree in Sociology from Swinburne University , and is currently finalising his PhD. (editors' note: and we all can't wait)

Ron's honours research was in the field of domestic violence and included the evaluation of a men's group programme . His current PhD research involves the study of public-private partnerships by local government to achieve affordable housing in inner city suburbs.

Ron lectures in Sociology, specialising in social policy. He also works within a research institute at the university in the field of cities and housing.

Ron works in Aspin Online Consulting on evaluations, research and special projects including scoping projects into online counselling, internships and graduate programs, and evaluations of programs and projects. Continuing the family and relationship theme Ron has also worked for the last seven years with a prominent Melbourne counselling agency running both group and couple sessions in marriage education. He also runs this service for couples on a private basis.

His interpersonal skills are further enhanced by the many years he has spent in voluntary work as a crisis telephone counsellor and trainer.

In an earlier life, Ron had 25 years experience in the metals industry as a Metallurgist, quality assurance manager, and in technical sales.

  Phil Walsh

Phil comes from a Marketing/ Procurement background within the retail industry and was previously a Business Manager with Supercheap Auto and prior to that was a Senior Product Development Manager with Coles Myer and has held a variety of senior management positions over his 14 years with CML.

As well has having strong connections to Procurement, Supply Chain and retail operations Phil has accumulated a knowledge of the issues that arise in both large and small business and the strategies that are needed to negate them.

Phil's primary focus will be to assist our business partners and customers to achieve a results driven outcome that delivers quality training with measurable values and results. Business experience within a multi business corporation gives Phil the ability to strategically negotiate a clear path forward.

Andy commenced with the company in July 2006. Andy is currently working on the online Justice of the Peace course for The Department of Justice and Attorney General (Queensland), IGA Supermarket induction and the new look of our ASPIN training web site. Recent work for our clients include the web site for the Converge conference, Going Virtual web site and the John Holland Group induction program. Andy also worked on the event team for Converge (Victorian eLearning conference for the VET sector).

Tess Evans

Education and Training Consultant

Tess joined our team in October 2006. Tess worked for many years as a senior manager at NMIT. Tess's first project with us was tender writing a mental health tender for the NEPS Centre along with Margaret Aspin. More information about Tess will be added in early 2007.

Russ Grosvenor Pharmacy Consultant. Russ worked on the Alocohol and Licit Substabce Abuse training program for pharmacists, GPS and AOD workers in Shepparton and Wangaratta reagions of Victoria.
