May 2014

Doesn’t time fly?  Nearly end of financial year already and lots of changes afoot in the vocational education and training (VET) industry across Australia.

With the very significant changes to government funding for qualifications, we’ve seen a lot of activity as Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) build new innovative models for delivery.  The best approach is to provide flexible options that still achieve a high quality learning outcome.  Dropping prices has always been a risky way to run any business, and training organisations need to ensure they provide an excellent and compliant service to all who are studying courses.  Whether you are a Learning and Development Manager in a corporate/Not for Profit/government department, a Training Manager in a private RTO or an Education Manager in a TAFE, it’s always critical to focus on the core of good training:

  • a well designed training program
  • engaging and interactive learning resources
  • meaningful work related validated assessments
  • well trained and experienced trainers who continually upskill and network
  • strong customer service and support team.

Don’t forget that vocational education and training is all about the learners, and their employers.
